The Great Gatsby

“What is your favorite book?”

“The Great Gatsby.”

Yes, it is true. One of my favorite books is The Great Gatsby, along with the many others who have had the blissful opportunity to enjoy F. Scott Fitzgerald’s exemplary writing. Many appreciate this book for the timeless essence depicting the jazz age, some for tragedy of hopeless romance. For me? It was not the plot, the yearning to live in a different time, but for the writing. Fitzgerald’s descriptions of the setting, his literary use of similes, alliterations, foreshadowing, metaphor, personification and assonance perplexed me as a seventeen year old with the question of how somebody could compose such an elegant literary piece.

Having been blessed with his many  literary artistic elements, I am even more excited that I will be given the opportunity to experience many forms of art all related to such a lovely, timeless story.

Many forms of art that must be exceptional, to even think of connecting its work with The Great Gatsby.

The casting? Impeccable.

Not only have I been obsessed with Leonardo DiCaprio for years (I mean, seriously, is there a role he CANNOT portray flawlessly??), but Carey Mulligan is another actor of mine who has recently become a favorite.

I had a quick lapse of shock when I saw this photo. With DiCaprio playing the role of Jay Gatsby alongside Mulligan as Daisy Buchanan, I know I will be an for an exquisite treat when I watch these two actors work together. I’m sure many scenes will be absolutely magical with the talents of these two.

The Great Gatsby is scheduled to be in theaters December 25, 2012.

I will anxiously await this date so I can experience The Great Gatsby once again. Look forward to posts depicting Gatsby Fashion and future trailer releases.
